A smarter, stronger website: Rebuilt for clarity, confidence and conversion
Complete rebuild of Basil Fry’s website with clear navigation, strong CTAs, and improved UX, resulting in higher traffic and more customer enquiries.
BACTA’s previous website had become inaccessible and impossible to manage, with lost logins, outdated content, and unsupported code causing sections to malfunction. It no longer served its purpose of clearly informing and supporting members and prospective members.
The membership area was cluttered with redundant and outdated documents, making it difficult for users to find relevant information. Overall, the site failed to reflect the organisation’s authority or effectively communicate its value to the industry.
When we were engaged to rebuild the website, our priority was to create a platform that reflected BACTA’s authority, relevance, and commitment to its members and the wider industry. From the outset, we took a strategic, user-centred approach, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and long-term sustainability.
We began with a detailed audit of the existing content and site architecture, pinpointing outdated information, broken functionality, and areas of member confusion. This insight allowed us to streamline and reorganise the information hierarchy, ensuring that key content — such as compliance updates, membership benefits, events, and industry resources — became easier to find and understand.
Our team rebuilt the site on a modern, secure content management system with intuitive editorial access, so BACTA’s staff could update pages, upload news, and manage member-only content without technical barriers. We also reviewed and refreshed the membership area, removing obsolete files, reorganising resources around topical needs, and introducing a clear structure aligned with the real-world ways members seek information.
Every design and development decision was driven by user experience: clear navigation paths for both members and prospective members, fast-loading responsive pages, easy-to-use forms, and consistent communication of BACTA’s mission and services. Through strategic content organisation, simplified back-end workflows, and a layout built for readability and engagement, the new site now supports the organisation’s goals rather than hindering them.
The new website is a streamlined, user-friendly platform that clearly communicates BACTA’s role, services, and membership benefits. Members can now easily access up-to-date resources, while prospective members are guided through a clear, engaging journey.
With improved functionality, simplified content management, and a modern, professional design, the website now supports BACTA’s goals, positioning the association as a leading voice within the industry and providing a digital hub fit for the future.
